Bus to San Juan International Airport

AMA Buses, which stands for Autoridad Metropolitana de Autobuses, are the public buses that go and come back from San Juan airport.

Even it’s the cheapest mean of transportation, it is not recommended to those carrying luggage since it is not allowed on board. Also, trip time is higher than taxi, expect a longer trip.

Bus route 50 provide connections between San Juan Airport to several destinations such as Isla Verde, Condado and Old San Juan.

Opening hours: From 05:00 am to 8:00 pm (Monday to Friday). There is no service on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.



Passengers can pick up AMA buses at the airport’s departure level (second level) in terminals A and D.

  • Regular fare: USD 0.50
  • Students: USD 0.50
  • Between 60 to 74 years: USD 0.25
  • Children and elders: Free

You can purchase your ticket on board to the driver.


There are some companies operating at the airport that offer shuttle services to and from the airport. Some hotels in Puerto Rico also offer free shuttle services to its clients.
